Warner Robins- George Nathan Stefano, 64, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 27, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Burpee-Scott Chapel with visitation beginning one hour prior to the services. George will be laid to rest immediately following the chapel service in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family request in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimers Association 886 Mulberry St, Macon, GA 31201 or to Kindred Hospice, 319 Margie Dr, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
George was born on June 15, 1953 in Macon, GA to the late Frank and Dottie Platto Stefano. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force and continued that service with the United States Air Force reserves until his retirement. He worked as a civil service employee at Robins Air Force Base, where he retired as an Item Manager supervisor. George was a member of Sandy Valley Baptist Church. He loved to travel, cook, especially grilling on his Big Green Egg, reading and loved his westerns. He was also an avid comic book collector, having amassed quite a collection. George was a Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Falcons fan. His greatest love was his family. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Nancy Bone Stefano of Warner Robins; 5 children and his 8 grandchildren.
